Courtney Johnson has been proud to call Carver home since 2010. She was elected Mayor in 2018.
Shortly after moving to Carver, Courtney became involved in the community through volunteering. She participated in what was then known as the Park and Recreation Board (now the Parks Commission) from 2011 to 2013, volunteered on the Steamboat Days committee from 2012 to 2015, and was appointed to the Planning Commission from 2014 to 2016. Before becoming Mayor, Courtney was elected and served on the Carver City Council from 2017 to 2018.
Born and raised in Grafton, Wisconsin, Courtney moved to Minnesota following high school. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from St. Cloud State University, she spent her career working in a number of communications roles including journalism, media relations, public relations, and internal communications. She now works as an independent communications consultant.
Courtney shares her home with Zac Borncamp and their kitties. In her free time Courtney can be found running around Carver, playing BARGO, gardening, knitting, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and hanging out with family, including her nephews, Luke and Landon.
