Water Infrastructure Projects: The City Council took a series of actions to authorize pipe and well improvements to the municipal water system at Monday’s meeting. In general, the approvals facilitate the construction of two new wells (Well #5 and Well #6) on the north side of Carver, near US HWY 212. During the design and test drilling phase of the well project, the City Engineer’s Office identified an opportunity to construct both of the new wells on the same site. This discovery eliminates piping, pump, and other related infrastructure project costs by approximately $1,000,000. The project cost savings can be used to reduce the need to issue additional debt to fund future water projects, ultimately decreasing the need to adjust rates and charges to fund future projects.
