Livable Communities Demonstration Account: The City Council adopted a resolution for enrolling the City of Carver in the Metropolitan Council’s Livable Communities Demonstration Account (LCDA). From the Met Council website, “LCDA provides funding for projects that increase access to housing, jobs, services, and transit in an effort to support more equitable, livable communities in the region.”
LCDA allows for communities to apply for grant dollars if they are part of the program. The Carver Crossing project was awarded $1.19 million in 2014 via the LCDA program for site development. Most recently, the City partnered with the Carver County Community Development Agency (CDA) for an application to the LCDA program for the second building adjacent to Carver Crossing.
