2021 Audited Financial Statements: The City Council adopted the results of the 2021 audit, as presented by Steve McDonald with Abdo.
Affordable Housing Connection Fee Waiver: In April, the City Council adopted a Connection Fee Waiver policy as a tool to implement the City’s goals for incentivizing affordable housing, which is a priority in the City’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan and the City’s Housing Action Plan. The Carver County Community Development Agency (County CDA) requested a $250,000 Connection Fee Waiver (maximum amount allowed) for a residential housing project that is planned to be proposed in the future near Carver Crossing. The waiver request was approved by the City Council, which will in turn assist the County CDA with a State of Minnesota funding application they intend to submit for the project.
Final Plat: Brookeview Housing Development: The City Council approved the final plat for the Brookeview housing development, which is a twenty-two (22) lot single- family housing project. Construction on the development in planned to begin later this summer. The homebuilder for the project was announced as Waconia Homes, with home prices anticipated to start in the $750,000’s. Brookeview is located south of the Meadows housing development on Spring Creek Drive, off of Mulberry Lane.
Ironwood Park Improvement Project: The City Council approved a bid for the Ironwood Park Improvement Project. With construction anticipated to begin later this summer, improvements include a picnic shelter, full court basketball, skate park, trail improvements, and an outdoor classroom space. Ironwood Park is located just west of Carver Elementary on Ironwood Drive.
